Get to know my hometown
Memphis was the big city my folks dreamed of making it to from the Arkansas Delta. Daddy picked cotton. Momma went to The Cotton Carnival. He had an ambition to make it. She desired a more southern cosmopolitan lifestyle. Both found it in Memphis. Like many Memphians they rubbed elbows with Elvis and Danny Thomas, but as their roots spread they developed deep relationships with sheetrock hangers and bankers, interior designers and housemaids, laborers and entrepreneurs, school teachers and hair dressers. All of these Memphians impacted and richly blessed my parents regardless of race or background.
I am one of three children they raised in East Memphis and Germantown. Nowadays I live in Collierville, and have raised three children of my own here.
